The Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association is a non-profit making organisation founded in 1940. Under the supervision of an Executive Committee, it aims to promote the interest and raise the standard of students and teachers in Western and Chinese music, and in speech, drama, poetry and prose.
Over the years, the Association has been organising the annual Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and the annual Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival to lay a foundation in music and speech for the Hong Kong students and the youngsters with potential in these fields. The Festivals also raise their performing standard. Some of the past participants are now prominent figures in the local and the international arts scenes.
The Association also organises and presents prize-winners’ performances and workshops related to the Music Festival and the Speech Festival.
Support from companies, organisations and individuals in the form of prize and trophy sponsorships, donations, rental subsidies and services are welcome. Please contact the Administrative Secretary of the Association for details.
