The Association is a non-profit making organisation founded in 1940. Under the supervision of an Executive Committee, it aims to promote the interest and raise the standard of students and teachers in Western and Chinese music, and in speech, drama, poetry and prose.

Over the years, the Association has been organising the annual Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival, with the aims to lay the ground work for the promotion of music and speech activities as well as to raise the standards in music and speech performances among students and young talents. A lot of the previous participants of the Festivals are now prominent figures in the local and worldwide arts scenes.

The Association also organises and presents performances and workshops related to the Music and Speech Festivals.

Support from companies, organisations and individuals in the form of prize and trophy sponsorships, donations, rental subsidies and services are welcome. Interested parties please contact the Administrative Secretary of the Association for details.
