The Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Association is a non-profit making organisation founded in 1940 under the supervision of an Executive Committee. The Association aims to help students and teachers cultivate their interests in Western and Chinese music, speech, drama, poetry and prose and maintain a high standard in performing arts.
Throughout the past six decades, the Association has been organising the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival (English Speech and Chinese Speech) for students and youngsters to display their talents and creativity. It also presents winners’ recitals for Members and the general public to appreciate the best of the best winners’ performances. Some competitors who participated in the previous Festivals have become prominent figures in respective professions.
The Association regularly invites guest speakers to conduct state-of-the-art workshops for teachers who prepare their students for competitions.
Companies, organisations and individuals are welcome to sponsor prizes, trophies, rental subsidies and services or to donate funding. Please contact the Administrative Secretary of the Association for details.
